New York Jets Offseason Staff Shakeup
The recipient of a bachelor's degree in accounting from SUNY University at Buffalo, Darren Grunberg draws on more than 20 years of trading experience in his role as equity trader with T3 Trading Group. When he isn't working, Darren Grunberg enjoys following his favorite National Football League (NFL) team, the New York Jets.
The Jets missed the playoffs for the seventh consecutive season in 2017. Personnel changes needed to be made in the offseason, primarily in regard to the team's offense, which ranked 28th in yards and 24th in points scored. The first change was made in mid-January, when the team announced offensive coordinator John Morton would not return in 2018. It was reported that Morton and head coach Todd Bowles had some philosophical differences in coaching, and Morton admitted to throwing in the towel during the Jets' Week 14 loss to the Denver Broncos. The Jets have yet to name a replacement for Morton, but it has been speculated that quarterbacks coach Jeremy Bates may be promoted to fill the role.
Further changes came on Jan. 24, 2018, as the Jets relieved offensive line coach Steve Marshall of his duties. A former assistant offensive line coach with the Green Bay Packers, Marshall joined the Jets in 2015 and spent three seasons with the team. The Jets' offensive line did the team no favors, giving up 47 quarterback sacks, tied for seventh-most in the NFL.

Three Novice Cooking Mistakes to Avoid
As an equity trader for T3 Trading Group, Darren Grunberg utilizes over two decades of experience in finance for the creation and execution of trading strategies, operations, and risk management. In Darren Grunberg’s free time, he likes to cook.
Not only will improving your skills in the kitchen open the door to much better meals, but it may also impress your friends, significant other, or that date you plan on wooing with a nice home-cooked meal. That said, there are numerous mistakes inexperienced cooks often make that will have your dinner guests second-guessing their decision to eat over. Here are three such mistakes you should avoid:
1. Overcrowding - While it may seem easier to throw everything into one pan and cook it all at once, overcrowding your pan produces excess steam. With so much steam, it is tougher for your food to brown properly, which helps lock in flavor. Instead of covering the pan’s entire surface with food, turn on another burner and use two pans, or simply use a larger one.
2. Meats - You may be hungry and impatient, but give your meats a few minutes to rest after cooking before you cut into them. Waiting a bit will help the juices absorb into the meat, making your steak more succulent. If you cut into your meat right after removing it from the heat, you will lose a lot of those juices and, consequently, a lot of the flavor.
3. Herbs - If you are cooking a dish that calls for a fresh herb, do not substitute it for its dried counterpart. Similarly, using dried herbs when a recipe calls for fresh herbs will likely leave your dish either over- or under-seasoned, depending on the herb. This is because herbs like parsley and basil lose much of their flavor when dried, while herbs like tarragon and oregano take on a much stronger flavor when dried.

Yankees Pitcher Finishes Third in AL Cy Young Voting
The recipient of a bachelor's in accounting from SUNY University of Buffalo, Darren Grunberg is an equity trader who has worked for multiple high-profile firms throughout his career, including Carlin Financial Group and T3 Trading Group. Beyond his professional pursuits, Darren Grunberg is a passionate fan of Major League Baseball's (MLB) New York Yankees.
The Yankees returned to the playoffs in 2017 after a one-year absence. A major contributor to the team's success was Luis Severino, who was recently named the second runner-up for the American League (AL) Cy Young Award. In the season prior, Severino posted a disastrous 0-8 win-loss record and a bloated 8.50 earned run average (ERA) through 11 starts. He later settled into a role in the bullpen and was expected by most to stay there in 2017. Instead, the Yankees made him the fifth starter and he pitched well above anyone's expectation.
The 23 year old posted a 14-6 record to go along with a 2.98 ERA in 31 starts. He also recorded a whopping 230 strikeouts and only 51 walks in 193 and one-third innings on his way to being named to the AL All-Star team. The AL Cy Young went to Corey Kluber of the Cleveland Indians, while Chris Sale of the Boston Red Sox finished second in the voting.

Tom Sawyer - Enduringly Popular Rush Song With a Vital Message
As equity trader with the T3 Trading Group, Darren Grunberg is responsible for autonomous trading decisions based on a proprietary book assigned to him. Passionate about music, Darren Grunberg is a particular fan of Rush, which has been at the forefront of arena and progressive rock music since the 1970s.
The Canadian musical unit’s most enduringly popular song is Tom Sawyer, which debuted on the 1981 album Moving Pictures and has been a staple of live concerts since. Featuring synthesizer up front and center, the song was a collaboration between lyricist Pye Dubois and drummer Neil Peart. As the latter musician explained it, the song presented Dubois’ vision of a rebellious, free-spirited individualist who combined elements of boy and man in maintaining an attitude that was both purposeful and wide-eyed. The high-octane song continues to be a major influence to rock musicians and was highlighted in a key scene in Steven Spielberg’s new science fiction movie Ready Player One, in which a cyber-detective takes on robotic adversaries.

Tennis Scoring - Deuce
Darren Grunberg serves as an equity trader with T3 Trading Group, where he specializes in fixed income methods and stocks. In his leisure time, Darren Grunberg enjoys playing a number of sports, including tennis.
During a game of tennis, the player who scores four points (15, 30, 40, game point) wins the game outright. There is a special scoring system, however, that comes into play when two players are tied at a score of 40-all. This is called deuce, and it follows its own set of rules to determine who wins the game.
When the score is tied at deuce, a player must score two consecutive points to win the game. Whoever scores the first point is said to have “advantage” until he either scores another point, or loses a point to bring the score back to deuce. Play continues at deuce for as long as it takes for a player to score two points in a row.

Hedge Fund Traders Map out Strategies for 2017
A longstanding presence in the New York financial sphere, Darren Grunberg has engaged as equity trader with T3 Trading Group for the past decade. Darren Grunberg’s experience extends to derivatives, equities, and fixed income offerings.
A recent Bloomberg article focused on strategies employed going forward in 2017 by top-performing hedge funds. With 2016 characterized by outsized returns in the equities and high-yield debt spheres, one shift is toward corporate and energy debt holdings.
Oil also posted significant gains over the past year and commodities look to be another area of investment growth. One area identified is commodity-related credits, with a discrepancy between public market valuations and private distressed credit-market valuations creating opportunities.
Another area of focus is on companies that have successfully restructured and now offer positive equity returns potential. These include energy companies that now have positive balance sheets and are positioned to drill in regions with significant resource potential.
